Week 3 - Sort out the attic room

This is where I do my sewing, so my fabrics, wadding and half finished projects are there along with the ironing board and any ironing that needs doing. There is also a couple of bookcases and ye olde Sony midi system (circa 1985, with no CD player, a dicky 'on' switch on the turntable, and a flat internal battery so it looses all the radio memory settings as soon as you switch it off) and its big speakers.

Oh, there has also been a bath in there for the past year or so waiting for me to have the wherewithal to re-do the bathroom; and since just before Christmas that has been joined by a bidet, loo and basin, and tap fittings for all.

In the bath is a basket with my saved bean and pea seeds - this is also the room where I dry the seed pods after picking at the Hill for saving for next year.

I hoofed the whole lot out then cleaned all the paintwork - only giving myself the one dose of mild concussion after standing up too swiftly and bashing my nut on the slopey ceiling - and vacuumed up many layers of dust, thread offcuts, pins, stray beans, broken machine needles etc.

I went through the bookcase and now have a pile for the charity shop, then I replaced the duff halogen lightbulb in the standard lamp downlighter bit, cleaned all the furniture and put it all neatly back.

And finally, I have ordered an antique look record player with a cd, tape player and radio (for the grand sum of £89) which will be delivered this week.

    That's such a difference! Promise me you didn't really just move att the rest into the far corner and stand in front of it to take the After phioto?

      Cheek! No I did not just move everything just for the pic! I even did the ironing, so there's dedication!

      Mind you, re-organisation of the stash (crammed into two crates by the chair far left) is a challenge for another week...

    Well done you! Just found you have added another blog. Seems I'm lagging as I'm still having trouble getting mine up & running properly, but I'll let you know when it happens. BTW, I'm OzSue and you left a lovely comment on QuiltSue's blog about my Xmas quilt. Cheers and keep up the good work.

      Getting the blog sorted out is a bit of a faff till you find that you are happy with it, but those standard templates that blogger provide do the job. Perhaps that should be one of your 52 challenges! :-)

    I'm with Susan on the hassle of sorting out blog templates. Have to confess I'd love to see 'change blog template' on your week 4 list because white text on a brown background is HELL for my old eyes ....

    Am using 'Awesome' on my photo blog and very pleased with the simplicity - hint, hint! (now go on, all together: "shut up, Hobbit")

      Cor, Missus, that's looking exceptionally smart! (and this time I mean the new template, not your attic room, we already know the attic room looks brilliant).

      BTW, if you want to import same settings to other blogs, go to Dashboard, click on 'Template' in list on left.

      New page > top right is a 'Backup/Restore button. Use that to copy template settings you like and you can then impose them on other blogs. It worked when I made Bag End and 365 the same ...
